Replacing The Garage Door Panel

When you refer to panel in electronics, then you are talking about the source of power to the electronic device. In the same vain your garage door comes with its functioning panel. When this panel becomes faulty, your door becomes useless.

If that happens, your door ceases to function. When that happens, it is not the end of the road. There is a solution to every problem, there is a solution attached to it. The beauty of it all is that this is a problem that is not beyond your expertise. You do not the services of any professional because it is something you can do yourself if you can follow the simple steps that are outlined below; here we go:

For the security of life, first disconnect the door from all electrical fittings. You have to raise the door for you to effectively carry out this task. When you succeed in doing that, you have prepared the ground for a hitch-free repair work on the panel.

This step requires that you be extra careful because of the tension in the springs in the turnbuckles that is responsible for holding it in place. A lot of tension is packed here, so once again, you have to exercise caution.

You will need a scrap 2-by-4 to hold the door some inches above the ground level so that you will the height off the ground that will make removing the bottom panel a less stressful effort.

You will need the support of some couple of vice clamps attached to the garage-door tracks below the bearings of the second panel. The strategy is to hold the upper part in place when it is time to remove the supports that you have earlier on put in place.

Use the ratcheting nut driver to loosen the bolts located on the brackets that hold the bottom panel in place. It is strongly advised that you save the center bracket for the last.

You need to place a second 2-by-4 on edge below the door bracing the bottom panel when it is being lowered. You can now intelligently remove the 2-by-4. The door is expected to prop at the center. The vise clamps hold the upper part of the door.

You can at this juncture loosen the bolts that hold the bottom panel to the center bracket and expertly remove the panel. You can now replace it with the new panel that is handy. You can now line up the bottom corners located in the cable anchors. The hinges and brackets can now be used as templates for drilling holes for bolts.

When you have achieved all the above steps and have attached all the brackets, you can now pre-drill the holes and mount the new handle. Raise your door and re-connect back the tension springs and the garage door opener where it is applicable.

The steps are as simple as it is presented above. This is a process that you can easily execute.
